When we feel stuck, restricted, or tight in the body, it is usually fascia (connective tissue) that needs help, rather than the muscles alone.
Myofascial slings consist of muscles, fascia and ligaments which combine to create stability and mobility. They all connect and function together to produce dynamic movement in the body. Slings work together to transfer load through the body. When these slings are working efficiently, they also help us move better, quicker and stronger. When they work in harmony, they provide optimal alignment of bones and joints to produce movement. But, when there is a weakness in the sling it can create dysfunction and misalignment, resulting in pain, injury, and fatigue.
