Olga AdamskaTeaching and practicing Pilates, for me, is both a vocational calling as well as a personal passion. I am passionate about Pilates and have first-hand knowledge of just how life-changing it can be.
I was inspired to begin training with the Body Control Pilates Association a decade ago, after attending regular Pilates classes, as part of my own fitness regime. As the result of a car accident, I had suffered from upper back pain and misalignment for years; shortly after starting to practice Pilates, I experienced an immediate improvement to my posture, strength and core stability, all of which have made a real and positive difference to me. Today, I am a fully qualified Body Control Pilates teacher, and a fully certified Comprehensive Pilates Studio Teacher, based in and around St Albans. I teach group classes and private one-to-one clients at the Retreat Studio. My client base is broad and as well as teaching mixed ability Pilates classes, I also offer specialist classes: Healthy Backs, Meno Active, Pilates for Men and Pilates for the over 65s. Clients are often referred to me by local Physiotherapists and Osteopaths for rehabilitation work after injuries or illness. Irrespective of your entry level or age, I can confidently state that if you practice Pilates on a regular basis, you will become fitter, healthier and stronger. Helping to realign, reshape and rebalance your body and mind. I follow a modern Pilates repertoire, using flowing sequences as-well-as specifically targeted exercises for mat and Pilates equipment. Drawing on my diverse range of skills and knowledge I teach Pilates and Yoga classes that combine classical teachings with modern science to exercise, challenge and change both mind and body. I am particularly passionate about applying the Pilates Method to those who suffer from Low Back Pain and in 2011 I trained and became a Back4Good Practitioner. I continue to develop as both teacher and a Practitioner of Pilates – I have also qualified as a ChiBall instructor – and I love to see how the Pilates Method supports and challenges everyone from the injured to athletes. It is hugely rewarding to be able to use Pilates to help my clients to achieve their fitness goals. Alongside Pilates and Yin Yoga, I'm a qualified Sophrologist Coach. I help both women and men improve their energy levels, focus their minds, build emotional resilience, manage stress, boosts self-confidence, prepares for exams and interviews, and get better sleep.
